Heartfelt 1

my heart is breaking
every time I hear the sound
of the neighbours, shattered and broken
the disillusionment nakedly profound
asking Why is our freedom for the taking?
frustration and anger grows, unspoken

my heart is breaking
sentiments are overflowing
into that which is inherently destructive
nascent from a sense of beleagueredness
translated into an illusion of preparedness
the underlying demon is brutally divisive

we work hard, employ and maintain many
we love the place, strive not to exclude any
but we seem to be shoe-horned to morph
into beings far removed from who we are
like boats dragged from the safety of wharf
floundering against evil forces gone too far

CR – your silence is deafening
while our hearts and fabric are breaking

I would like to thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this poem.

I am hoping to see the same high-grade blog posts by you later on as well.
In truth, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get my very own website now 😉
